I took this extended drawing trip as an opportunity to spend more time on my drawings. Through advice and feedback from the group and tutor Martyn, I honed in on my process; first capturing an essence with line drawings and paint, and then building up images through colour, form and texture.
For subject matter, I focused largely on architecture, nature and people, illustrated in a reportage style. I feel my most successful pieces combined all three, suggesting narratives and eluding a stronger (yet still subtle) sense of time and place.
Most drawings were done in my A5 Moleskine, and also A4 and A3 sketchbooks. You can explore a selection of these in the gallery below.
