Mark-making Part 1
This is where drawing begins… with a material mark on a surface.
In response to a specially prepared soundtrack, this video will take you through a demonstration of how the simple act of making marks on a surface can be therapeutic and beautiful, but also extremely useful in the context of observational drawing from life.
Through simple excercises, Martyn will take you through some of the fundamentals of mark-making and explain how you can use them in your drawing practice, with particular reference to landscape.
Watch the workshop video first, then when you're ready, use the music video to inspire different marks when you are completing the set tasks.
Once the tasks have been completed, email Martyn and you will be invited to arrange a 1:1 tutorial online to discuss the results and how to develop the them in the context of your drawing practice.
