Istanbul is perhaps the most exotic European destination that we offer. Huge mosques define the skyline in this ancient commercial centre that was the heart of the Ottoman Empire. In Istanbul we are surrounded by the stunning architecture of ubiquitous mosques whose size and scale must be seen to be believed, chief of which is the Blue Mosque. The maze of streets lined with terraced half-wooden overhanging houses on either side, partial remains of ancient monuments, fascinating local shops and the Grand Bazaar offer fabulous drawing opportunities.
